Dr. Kacem Zoughari
Inspired by seminars with Dr. Kacem Zoughari, his personality, his extensive research and practical knowledge in connection with the classical Japanese martial arts as well as the wish to make this knowledge accessible to awider audience, the idea for this book was born.
It presents a selection of interviews and articles with Dr. Kacem Zoughari since 1997 and deals with aspects of classical Japanese martial arts. It providers us with insight into the development of the author from humble beginnings to a renowned researcher in this field. For this reason, the articles, some of which are old, have not been edited and have been left in their original form. In this way, the reader can follow his development along the wy.
Dr. Kacem Zoughari received his doctorate in Japanese Studies from the prestigious INALCO Institut national des langues et civilisations orientales (National Institut for Oreiental Languages and Civilisation) in Paris, his thesis was on Traditional du mouvement dans les écoles classiques de combat du Japon (Tradition od movement in the classical fighting schools of Japan) and, in addition to his academic and research knowledge, Dr. Kacem Zoughari has a high degree of practical experience in classical martial arts, which he has practiced for more than 30 years under the guidance of his Japanese mentor Ishizuka Sensei. Fpr many years, Dr. Kacem Zoughari has been a much sought after lecturer at universities and presenter at seminars around the world, his lectures and seminars are ever-growing in popularity.
